Park
Rediscover the excitement of horse racing at Laurel Park. Located
just minutes from Central Parke at Victoria Falls,
Laurel Park is open daily and features live racing and simulcasting.
Fairland
Regional Park
Including more than 150 acres of parkland, Fairland Regional
Park provides county residents with a multitude of recreational
facilities. The Sports and Aquatic Complex includes a gymnastics
center, racquetball courts, weight training center, indoor swimming
pool and the Tennis Bubble. Catch a hockey game or go ice-skating
at the Gardens Ice House, which is an incredible facility that
features an Olympic
rink, NHL rink, game room and Wellness-For-Life Fitness Center.
Golf
Your new home is convenient to many of the area's top golf courses.
Only 10 minutes away is Patuxent
Greens Country Club . The Washington Post chose
its course as one of Washington's Top 20 golf courses in 2002.The
Gunpowder Golf Club, which offers an 18-hole
golf course, practice facilities, chip and putt and pro shop
as well as the Bowie Golf & Country Club and the Glenn
Dale Country Club are also within a short driving
distance.
Professional Sports
Just outside of Laurel are the homes of many professional sports
teams. The NFL's Washington
Redskins play at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland
and the Baltimore
Ravens play at M&T Bank Stadium in downtown
Baltimore. If you are a Philadelphia
Eagles fan, a scenic drive up I-95 will lead
you to their brand new stadium, Lincoln Financial Field.
Take your family out to a ball game and
see the Baltimore
Orioles at the legendary Camden Yards. You can
also enjoy the Bowie
Baysox, a minor league
baseball team, at Prince George's Stadium.
