In addition to the lush landscaping and relaxing getaway of Milford Ponds, when you live here you can take advantage of the numerous parks and museums located just minutes away in downtown Milford. Visit Lovers Lane at Marshall Pond Park, take a hike through Silver Lake Park or enjoy a boat ride along the scenic Mispillion River. Right outside of Milford Ponds and Milford is the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and check out the numerous migrating ducks, geese and other wildlife that inhabits the area.
The history of Milford is rich with stories about the sea and the town’s many former shipyards. The Milford Historical Society and Milford Museum are chock full of interesting information about Milford and it’s contributions throughout history. A former post office houses the museum, which tells the stories of the town's beginnings to the fast growing community it has become today.
The year-round Riverfront Theatre, a local community theatre produces shows covering practically every genre, including musicals, dramas, comedies and original works.
Also located throughout this quaint town are homes that carry with them a history all their own. Built in 1763, the beautiful Causey Mansion served as home to two Delaware governors, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is located in downtown Milford. The manor is currently opened as a bed and breakfast and is ready for your out of town guests to enjoy.Throughout the town are homes rich in history and full of beauty that add to the quaint charm of Milford. Stops on the tour include the Mill House, formerly inhabited by the author of Delaware’s state song. The Towers was built in 1793 and served as home to a Delaware Governor among others.
