Central Parke Sweeps Monument Awards

BURKE, VA. – October 31, 2005. Central Parke® Communities swept last night’s prestigious Monument Awards winning all three awards in the Active Adult Midsize Community category for their Laurel, Maryland resort community, Central Parke at Victoria Falls! The awards were presented at the 2005 Monument Awards held at the Bethesda Marriott. Considered one of the premier awards programs in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the program recognizes the best new home and community designs. The Northern Virginia Building Industry Association and the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association sponsor the awards program.

According to Bill Slenker, President, Central Parke® Communities, the 55+ Resort Communities division of Slenker Communities, “We are thrilled that Central Parke at Victoria Falls won all three awards. We have partnered with some of the area’s leading builders who were recognized last night for their fresh, stylish home designs. Drees Homes was awarded the winner of the “Active Adult Senior Housing” category for their Greenbrier model and also received Honorable Mention for their Homestead model. Craftstar Homes won the Award of Merit for their Wellington Model. Sturbridge Homes received an Award of Merit for their Dartmouth model in the “New Condominium/Co-Ops/Conversions” category.

Craftstar Homes and Drees Homes are building one and two-car garage villas from mid $300’s to $500’s. Michael Harris Homes is offering single-family homes on private cul-de-sacs from the mid $500’s and Sturbridge Homes is building luxury condominiums with elevator service and private garages from the upper $200’s. All homes feature one-level living and low maintenance designs.
